INCI: Melaleuca alternifolia leaf oil

Origin: Australia

Extraction: Steam distillation

Properties: broad spectrum anti-infectious, analgesic, anti-inflammatory, antiviral, antiseptic, antibacterial, antifungal, antiparasitic, healing, decongestant, fungicide, immunomodulator, radioprotective and virucidal.

Helps with: oral problems (bad breath, canker sores, gingivitis, stomatitis, periodontitis, tooth abscess, various oral infections) and tooth whitening, ear, nose and throat infections (otitis, sinusitis, pharyngitis, tonsillitis), mycoses, intestinal parasitic infestations and skin disorders, ingrown toenails, cracked feet, scabies, excessive sweating, bad foot odor, minor injuries, cough, colds, discouragement, fatigue, profound asthenia, general exhaustion, prevention of burns caused by radiotherapy, acne, pimples, warts, head lice, dandruff, dry, dull and/or brittle hair, gynecological infections (vulvitis, vaginitis, genital herpes, cervical dysplasia, condyloma).

Aroma: fresh, aromatic, floral, terpenic.

Safety: The quality of essential oils is critical as they are liposoluble, which means they are absorbed by the skin and easily enter the bloodstream. Note: May cause dermatitis; check the instructions for applying pure oil to the skin; avoid large doses and do not use for more than 28 days without breaks.

Where and how to use?

Topical use:

  • Babies: Add 1 drop to 1 tablespoon (15 ml) of vegetable oil.

  • Children: Add 1 drop to 1 teaspoon (5 ml) of vegetable oil.

  • Adults: Add 3 to 6 drops to 1 teaspoon (5 ml) of vegetable oil.

Electric Aromatizer 100 ml: Add 5 drops to obtain a pleasant and long-lasting fragrance. It is advisable to test with more or less drops to adjust the desired intensity.

Bath:

  • Soaking: Dilute 0.5 ml of oil in 1 tablespoon (15 ml) of vegetable oil (honey or apple cider vinegar). Use a spoonful of this mixture for a full bath.

Cosmetics: Dilute 1 to 3 drops of essential oil in 1 teaspoon (5 ml) of vegetable oil and massage the skin for a few minutes. It can also be added to the desired cosmetic product.

  • Hair: Shampoo, conditioner, hair mask, combing cream, ends repairer, hair tonic, etc.

  • Skin: Liquid soap, after-shower oil, moisturizing cream, facial soap, facial moisturizer, foot cream, etc. Note: Do not add essential oils to sunscreen. Do not apply in the eye area.

Compress: Add approximately 8 drops (0.3 ml) of essential oil to 500 ml of water and use in compresses.

Inhalation: Drip 1 drop on your hands, rub them together and inhale deeply in a shell shape.

Massage: Dilute approximately 20 drops (0.5 ml) of essential oil in 1 tablespoon (15 ml) of vegetable oil or neutral massage cream.

How to conserve?

Store Melaleuca essential oil in dark glass containers and preferably do not transfer to another container. Keep it in a cool and dry environment.
